Nelly von Aderkas is a Conservation Scientist interested in historic painting materials and methods. She has a background in chemistry (BSc Hons McGill) and painting conservation (University of Cambridge, Hamilton Kerr Institute), and managed to combine these two degrees to become a researcher and analytical scientist. She divides her time between the Fitzwilliam Museum and the National Gallery in London. Nelly is also currently studying for a PhD at UCL and the British Museum in the organic residue analysis of ancient Greek pottery.
